Item 1 of 5: Faculty search, from postdoc to provost
Yet few universities manage faculty as an asset. Each mandate starts from the institution's own record: where its research stands, which positions carry it, and what a given appointment would change.
See how we workATLAS sources the full field, scores each candidate against the institution, and returns a shortlist suited to it. Four notes on how the evidence behind every introduction is built.

Every research-active scholar in the field, identified from the open scholarly record.

Research impact, the projected effect of the appointment, and the career facts that bear on a move.

Every projection is shown with its likely range.

Each projection is dated and later checked against the published outcome.
The prediction ledger
Every projection we make is dated and stored. When the target ranking edition publishes, each is checked against the outcome, so an institution can see whether its appointments did what was expected.
Recommended

Where research-active faculty move between five regions, the corridors that carry them, and an opening for universities hiring in each.

Gulf universities already hire in clusters: about half of arrivals publish with another recent arrival, and about half share a subfield with one. When each post is filled on its own, a cohort can duplicate strengths and leave gaps; planning the posts together avoids both.

Provost and dean searches rest on reputation, references and interview. The research record of the units a candidate has led is public and rarely read. Set against peer units over the same years, it gives a committee evidence an interview cannot.

The eastward turn: who is arriving at Gulf universities, from where, in which fields, and where the openings are.

For a new department, research centre, or initiative: which posts, at which stages, in what order.

Universities price appointments but seldom price departures. Across 29 Gulf universities, a fifth of researchers appear on about four in five of the most cited papers. In some fields, one departure puts about a third of that record at risk.

Where research stands, which positions carry it, what a departure would cost, and which faculty to hire next.

Discretion, confirmed identity, and career facts only.
